Join Our Community
Community events are a beautiful way to bring us together. These gatherings provide a safe space for people to connect, learn and share how different worldviews and ways of knowing can create compassionate communities in Aotearoa.
Whether it's a neighbourhood block party, a cultural festival, or a charity fundraiser, these events create opportunities for meaningful interactions, fostering a stronger sense of belonging and solidarity within the community. Through shared activities and shared spaces, community events play a vital role in building social cohesion, promoting understanding, and strengthening the bonds that tie us together as a community.

No One Dies Alone (NODA):
Become a Compassionate Companion
Honohono Tātou Katoa is proud to introduce the No One Dies Alone (NODA) programme at CHT St Johns in Epsom from March 2025. We are seeking dedicate volunteers to join this new programme, providing comfort and connection to those in their last months and days of life.
Volunteers need to apply to become a Mercy Hospice volunteer, undergo reference and police vetting checks, attend induction and training sessions and commit to volunteer with us for a minimum of six months.
If you’re interested in becoming a NODA volunteer or learning more, we’d love to hear from you!
First training on Saturday 7th of March
from 10 am to 3 pm.

At Home Aged and Palliative Services (AHAPS): A “Train the Trainers” Programme
Launching in 2025, the "At Home Aged and Palliative Services" programme is co-designed by Working Together Group (WTG) and Honohono Tātou Katoa (HTK).
This initiative will equip community members with skills, knowledge, and resources to both provide compassionate at-home care at the end of life, and train others to do the same. Emphasising sustainability and inclusivity, the programme reflects HTK's mission to foster compassionate communities and ensure "palliative care everywhere with everyone," working with hidden carers and under-served communities through trust, collaboration, and celebration of their strengths.
This programme will be delivered online and in person in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Stay tuned for training dates in early 2025.
